THE BEVERN TRUST
Help us create a Space to Thrive for our residents
For over 25 years, since 1999, our residential home, Bevern View has been providing a loving and supportive environment for residents with profound physical and learning disabilities.
As our residents get older and their needs become more complex we have recognised that we urgently need to extend the home in order to create a space for our residents to live life to the full.

“I am delighted to support the ‘Space to Thrive’ appeal. A successful outcome will significantly enhance the lives of the Bevern View residents by providing a much-needed dedicated activity space. Additionally, it will demonstrate our appreciation for staff by offering a proper break room for those on long shifts. Investing in our residents and staff is an investment in the heart of our community.”
Our Patron, Natasha Kaplinsky OBE.
The challenge
Our current activity programme, designed to stimulate and engage residents, is held in a busy lounge that doubles as a thoroughfare. This noisy and distracting space makes it difficult for residents to focus and participate fully. Additionally, setting up and dismantling activities daily consumes staff time that could be better spent with residents.
We are really short of dedicated office space for our administrative staff and our tireless workforce desperately need a room to have a vital short break from their all consuming tasks.
Your contribution,
their Space to Thrive
The money we raise will help us build a dedicated activity room, complete with vital storage and areas for music, arts, and crafts. This will allow for more frequent activities, improved resident choice, and a calmer lounge space for relaxation. Reclaiming the lounge means our families will have a tranquil environment in which they can spend quality time with their loved ones outside of a bedroom setting.
The project also encompasses a new office building and staff break room, creating a more supportive work environment and fostering staff satisfaction and retention.
“I joined The Bevern Trust as a bank cook in July 2024. The first thing I immediately noticed was that the care staff are amazing and I hope they recognise their worth, I can’t believe what a fantastic job they do and what a fantastic home Bevern View is”.
Emily Thomas, bank cook.
