The Bevern View Olympics

This month the Residents of Bevern View will be competing in their own Olympics – The Bevern View Accessible Olympics. They will have a go at a number of Olympic sports adapted specifically for them. It will give the residents the chance to share the Olympic experience and celebrate their skills and achievements.

SYNCHRONISED SWIMMING (Solo) – It all started in the pool with Holly showing some beautifully delicate moves to the rhythm of the music. This was followed by a quite astounding performance from JP. He included his trademark hip thrusts and double kiss routine as he danced with a cheeky glint in his eye. Mark was next up. Where he lacked in the dance technique as we saw in the previous performances, he certainly excelled in positivity and giggles. The judges score to beat was JP’s 164/180.

AQUA BASKETBALL – We saw the debut sport of Aqua Basketball. A fast tempo game of getting as many balls into the floating hoop over a 2mins 30s period. Mark came into his own with a stunning 20 hoops. JP managed a respectable 11. More from the others tomorrow.

FREE STYLE SWIMMING (Time Trial) – In this swimming sprint we saw Mark clock a confident 51.49 seconds to travel two widths of the pool. Will it be enough for a medal? Come back for more tomorrow!
